Ochola’s Story:
Before joining the PFP family, Ochola lived with his mother and father in the slum-town called Masese. Both of his parents are uneducated and unemployed- and his mother is deaf. Disabilities are not understood in Uganda and communication is difficult for her. She tries to help support her family by visiting the rubbish bins very early in the morning to bring home other people’s scraps (if she is lucky enough to find anything edible). Ochola’s father helps to support his family by cutting grass and making brooms. He tries to sell each broom he makes for 500 shillings (approximately 20 cents). Needless to say, life has been very difficult for these people and they have reached out to Peace for Paul to please help their son to have a future. Thanks to his sponsor, their wish has come true and Ochola is looking toward his future with hope.
