Joseph’s Story:

As told by his older brother, Kurre John Bosco
I was born in Moroto, Uganda.  I lived there with my family which consisted of my mother and father, my four brothers, my one sister, and I.  In Moroto we were suffering from drought, hunger, and the war. We lived there until my father was shot and killed by rebels. My mother took us and we left Moroto for Jinja. When we got to Jinja we didn’t have food or shelter so we wandered on the streets seeking food, help, and shelter.

I moved on the streets with my older brother, Kileto, and when we needed to get food we would go to the school during lunch time and they would sometimes give us the leftover food.  On the streets, after we begged for money, we would play a game with soda caps.
